Legacy Horse Ranch

At Legacy Horse Ranch, we create calm, responsive, reliable horses—and teach riders how to do the same.

Through a clear, proven approach built on timing, feel, and understanding, you’ll learn how to communicate in a way your horse actually understands—creating softness, confidence, and consistency in the arena and on the trail.

Two Locations, One Training Program

Madisonville - Foundation Training

Most training horses begin at our Madisonville location, where groundwork and early riding establish calmness and control. Horses gain early trail experience on a one-mile trail loop.

Vonore -

Advanced Trail Experience

As horses progress, they may spend time at our Vonore location featuring 10 miles of private wooded trails, often in group rides, helping develop confident, reliable trail horses.

How Our Training Works

The Legacy Ranch Approach

Our goal is simple: develop calm, reliable horses that are a pleasure to ride. Training focuses on relaxation, clear communication, and correct movement—so your horse becomes responsive, confident, and consistent.

Whether you’re starting a young horse or dealing with issues like tension, inconsistency, or lack of control—you’re in the right place. We focus on building a strong foundation from the beginning—or rebuilding it when things haven’t gone as planned.

Foundational Training For Horse & Rider

The Sight → Sound → Feel Method

First, riders first learn to see the footfall pattern from the ground by watching the two legs closest to them. Next, they learn to hear the rhythm of the gait. Finally, they develop the feel of correct movement under saddle. This approach helps riders recognize and maintain a smooth, balanced gait.
